The School of American Law offers minimum of 120 hours of instruction in English on topics in American law at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Lodz. Topics vary from year to year, but typically include International Business Transactions, Legal Research and Writing, Introduction to American Law, Intellectual Property, Business Organizations, Antitrust, Torts, Comparative Law, International Public and Private Law, etc.
The School of American Law Program is designed for current students of law or related subjects, practicing lawyers, businessmen and any other professionals who wish to gain a broader understanding of the American legal system and international legal issues. Graduates of the SAL program receive one semester's credit towards the Chicago-Kent's two-semester LLM degree in International and Transnational Law. Additional scholarship money of $10 000 is also available to qualified students.

The SAL Program applicants must be current students, graduates or professionals with an academic diploma who are proficient in English, however, no document certifying language skills will be required. Submitted application form must include a CV and an academic transcripts or a diploma.

The Program will be composed of ten courses conducted exclusively either by full-time Professors or Adjunct Professors of Chicago-Kent College of Law with global experience in their disciplines. Program study period covers November 2015- June 2016. Classes will be held once or twice a month covering weekends through full day workshop sessions (roughly from Friday afternoon till Sunday midday). Read more on the schedule of courses.

There is a written examination for each course. The SAL students' evaluation shall be conducted by the Chicago-Kent College of Law lecturers during the classes and exams.

Upon completion of the Program, the students of the School of American Law at the University of Lodz shall receive the Certificate signed by the Director of the School, the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Lodz and the Dean of IIT / Chicago-Kent College of Law.

THE LL.M. PROGRAM AT CHICAGO-KENT COLLEGE

For the graduates of the School of American Law who hold a diploma in law IIT / Chicago-Kent College of Law offers the LLM Program of International & Transnational Law.
The Master of Laws, commonly abbreviated LL.M from Latin Legum Magister, is a postgraduate globally recognized academic degree. Either those holding a basic academic law degree or a professional law degree can enroll.

The LLM Program of International and transnational Law is a one-year full-time program for foreign lawyers and law graduates who wish to gain a broader understanding of the American legal system and international legal issues. All applicants must hold a diploma in Law. The program offers flexibility in the choice of law courses as well as the opportunity to conduct independent research. Students enrolled in the program attend courses and seminars along with J.D. students and can take advantage of the school's cutting edge-expertise in areas such as information technology law, e-commerce and financial services law.
If you are thinking of attaining this LLM qualification, the School of American Law is for you! Graduates of the SAL Program in Poland receive one semester's credit toward Chicago-Kent's two-semester LLM degree in International and Transitional Law. This makes the LLM degree much less expensive. It is virtually the equivalent of a full one-semester scholarship. A student needs to pay only one semester's tuition in Chicago and finance only four months of living expenses. Additional scholarship money of $10 000 is also available to qualified students.

To get a better understanding of the expenses please follow the calculation: 2015 - 2016 academic year's tuition fee for the full LL.M Program at Chicago-Kent College is $40 000, which gives $ 20 000 for a single semester. An accepted graduate of the School of American Law at the University of Lodz who was granted the above mentioned scholarship of $ 10 000 would pay $ 10 000 to complete the LL.M. degree at Chicago-Kent College, U.S.A. Students cover their own flights, medical insurance and living expenses.

If you have any questions about the LL.M. at Chicago-Kent College admissions process, program or expenses please contact Ms Agnieszka Cenzartowicz at acenzartowicz@kentlaw.iit.edu
